Rappahannock County is special: no stop lights, no shopping centers—just beautiful Blue Ridge vistas, rolling farmland, gourmet restaurants, challenging hiking, and plentiful antiques (not necessarily in that order!). The following is a very short list of activities you might enjoy before or after your visit to Sharp Rock Vineyards:
Sunnyside Farm Markets - Located in the former home of the Sperryville Emporium, Sunnyside Farm Market offers upscale produce, meats, wines, and many other specialty items not found anywhere else in Rappahannock County. Wines from Sharp Rock Vineyards are featured.
Flint Hill Public House - A restaurant and pub in a historic 1903 school building, the Flint Hill Public House features seasonal menus using local produce and an award-winning wine list, including a selection of Sharp Rock wines. In fair weather, ask for a seat on the deck overlooking the garden.
Four and Twenty Blackbirds - Listed in Washingtonian’s top 100 restaurants, they feature original cuisine with Southwestern U.S. and Southeastern Asia accents, served in an ambient atmosphere.
Thornton River Grill - Our newest restaurant located in the middle of Sperryville, just 8 miles from Sharp Rock. They have a great range of selections and prices, and they also serve several Sharp Rock wines including Gold-medal winning Chamois Blanc.
Tour d'Epicure - Experience Virginia’s most breathtaking countryside and award-winning wineries from the intimate vantage point of a bicycle.
Old Rag Mountain - Located just a mile away from Sharp Rock Vineyards, Old Rag Mountain is one of the most popular hiking mountains in the entire Blue Ridge. After your hike, stop at the Sharp Rock tasting room for a glass of refreshing Sauvignon Blanc!
Luray Caverns - If you have not visited these caverns, it should be a priority to witness this natural miracle for yourself. Luray offers an astounding hedge maze, gifts, historical memorabilia and much more.
Shenandoah National Park - The park occupies a third of Rappahannock county and provides endless opportunities for hiking and peaceful enjoyment of nature. You can enjoy the cool mountain streams, rivers, caves and spectacular views on various hiking trails.
